Glamourous
Vogue's December issue is going to name the most glamourous women of all 2007. Included are Naomi Campbell, Sienna Miller, Kate Moss, and of all people, the Queen of England. The editor states that Kate Moss was chosen because of her abililty to wear just about anything and pull it off. Naomi because she is simply glamourous. The Queen because she wears what she wants to and doesn't give a shyte if you like it or not. (that is glamourous, yes, in my opinion)
What is glamourous? According to the answers.com, it is having an air of allure, romance and excitement. Dicitonary.com says
| 1. | full of glamour; charmingly or fascinatingly attractive, esp. in a mysterious or magical way. |
| 2. |
full of excitement, adventure, and unusual activity: the glamorous job of a foreign correspondent. |
Well, then, what is glamour?
|
1. |
the quality of fascinating, alluring, or attracting, esp. by a combination of charm and good looks. |
| 2. | excitement, adventure, and unusual activity: the glamour of being an explorer. |
| 3. | magic or enchantment; spell; witchery. |
Charm. Good looks/attractiveness. Exciting. Note this: not one says, beautiful, young, or sexy. But, being adventurous, alive, having that joy to live, is sexy, charming, youthful, and very attractive. I think the definition should be rewritten, and having some boldness and guts to stick your neck out should be added. THAT is glamourous. Not dripping with diamonds or a three thousand dollar dress.
Kate snorted some coke and got caught on someone's cell phone camera doing it. She should not have been snorting coke; I think it is very stupid. We have known for twenty some odd years that cocaine is an idiotic drug to mess with (along with many others). But Kate is a model, not a scientist, a teacher, a doctor, a nurse, a computer programmer, or any other job that actually requires some brains. Point made. Personally, I like her style: how she dresses, how she kicked out her boyfriend for behaving badly, and that she refused to hide after she got caught. Sienna Miller, yawn. I do not like her style. I think she also needs to eat something fried. A lot of it. A bandana tied around her ankle and fashion is made. NOT.
Here are some other famous (or not) women I think are the epitome of Glamourous 2007:
Julianne Moore. 47 years old and lookin good, woman. Embraces her redheadedness. Chooses interesting film roles (The Big Lebowski, Far From Heaven, Children of Men, Silence of the Lambs stuff)
Oprah Winfrey. Bold, brainy, strong, stamina. And gives a shyte.
Bipasha Basu. Talented, keeps to her heritage (gave up being a supermodel to move back to India).
Debbie Harry. Style maven, comeback queen.
Cameron Diaz. The woman has the best smile going. And it's real.
Halle Berry. I need not say anything except she is damn fabulous.
peace out.
