It is October, a time for us to find something warmer to wear. A few years ago, something from the early 70s was brought back to us. Something wonderful, warm, fuzzy, and affordable (unless it came off a Paris runway):

With the ease of a sweater (does NOT wrinkle, thanks) and the price of a pair of jeans, this item can make your fall day. You can get them in a plethora of shapes, lengths and weights. The best bet is medium weight, and a staple colour, like black, brown or tweedy. However, a cream one can dress up your outfit and a tweedy one can add class to jeans and a tee. You can wear them over dresses even. I own four, and one of them is very colourful, and I get nothing but compliments on it when I wear it.

They are still in this fall and being offered by top designers (with top prices, dang! pounds roughly translate to twice as many dollars.):
